Preparing A Highly Skilled Workforce to Help BC's Employers

By 2024, the largest demand, 42 per cent of all job openings, will be in occupations like healthcare, hospitality, business administration, sales, construction, shipbuilding, transportation, oil and gas, technologies utilities, and accounting- positions that require college or trade certification. Another 36 per cent of jobs will require university education, which many students will begin at one of BC’s colleges through our extensive university transfer programs.

Long term, predictable annual funding to colleges is required to prepare a highly skilled workforce to meet the demands of business and industry and to ensure that the province has the vibrant economy British Columbians expect in the years to come.
