Camosun College offers international opportunities both domestically and abroad. Our international student population comes to us from more than 55 countries and enhances the college experience for all members of our community. Camosun offers a broad range of programs including Arts & Science, Business, Health & Human Services, Sport & Exercise Education, and Trades & Technology, as well as College Preparatory programs and English as a Second Language. Students can choose to study toward many academic credentials, including certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas and applied bachelor’s degrees. In addition to our credential programs, we offer an extensive range of University Transfer courses and programs providing transfer opportunities to the University of Victoria, University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and most other Canadian universities. Along with our longstanding exchanges with Morioka University in Victoria’s twin city of Morioka, Iwate, Japan, many opportunities exist for all students to study abroad in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Mexico and the United States. These study abroad initiatives include individual student and faculty exchanges with our partner institutions, as well as a vast array of field schools incorporating practicum placements as well as academic lectures abroad. Since the mid-1980s Camosun College’s students and staff have participated in many international development activities. This commitment to education-based development benefits our international partners, and strengthens our students, our college and our community.

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) welcomes students from around the world. CNC offers programs in the following areas: University Transfer, Business, Academic and Career. CNC has transfer agreements with several universities in BC and memorandums of understanding with several universities and colleges around the world including: Italy, Vietnam, Korea and China. Every year, students, employees and community members take advantage of our study abroad, volunteer abroad and work abroad opportunities. CNC is interested in discussing exchange agreements with colleges around the world, especially with Japanese colleges.

College of the Rockies (COTR) provides International students with a variety of learning opportunities in the certificate, diploma and bachelor levels. Areas of expertise include (but are not limited to): Sustainable Business and Tourism programs (including Bachelor of Business Administration Program and Tourism and Recreation Management Program), Adventure Tourism Programs (including Mountain Adventure Skills Training (MAST), Adventure Tourism Business Operations (ATBO), Global Studies (a post graduate certificate program), Trades programs in a number of areas (including Mining, Plumbing, Electrical, and Carpentry), Training programs (including English Language Training) and Emergency and Firefighting Training. COTR would be happy to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MOU's) and Academic and Vocational Exchange Agreements with other countries in a number of areas including: development of programming based on employer needs, industry advisory group protocols and processes, competency based curricula including nursing and rural health care, adventure tourism and hospitality, environmental entrepreneurism, global studies and emergency and firefighter training.

International activity is an important part of Douglas College. Currently international students account for about 10 per cent of the College’s student population, up from six per cent just five years ago. Students come to Douglas from 45 different countries to take academic courses, learn English and experience Canadian culture. Douglas College also has successful long-term overseas joint-degree programs in Shanghai and Harbin, China, which graduate about 250 students per year. Douglas also encourages domestic students to venture overseas, with a goal that every student has access to at least one international experience while studying at Douglas. To facilitate this goal, the College helps fund domestic students to participate in international activities and faculty to develop these activities. Douglas College is interested in creating partnerships in three areas: visiting students, exchange students, and collaborative programs/degrees.  

Okanagan College is a global community. Okanagan welcomes more than 1,200 international students annually from more than 40 different countries for English as a Second Language, Academic, and Study Tour programs. While international students can be found in most Okanagan College programs, the most popular academic programs for international students are the Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and the Associate degrees in Arts or Sciences.  Okanagan College is developing pathways into programs through collaborative relationships with high schools and other post-secondary institutions, as well as from our programs to universities within British Columbia and across Canada. These flexible pathways, combined with exceptional support both inside the classroom as well as in our regional communities in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, makes Okanagan College the ideal choice for international students no matter what their educational goals.

Langara College offers a range of programs for incoming International Students. The College has specialty programs in English language proficiency designed for students wishing to study at the university level in Canada. Langara also has a variety of international programs that afford students the opportunity to study abroad. These include: China Field School (in association with Beijing Language and Culture University), Study in Thailand (courses within the program have university-transfer credit and offer an introduction to the past, present, and future of Thailand), European Field School (designed to help develop a deep sense of history and the arts) and Latin American Studies (a one-semester interdisciplinary, university-transfer field school that includes several weeks of travel and study in a Latin American country). In addition to these international programs the College offers a range of field studies programs in various locations around the world.

North Island College (NIC) offers a variety of opportunities for international students. International students can obtain bachelor degrees, diplomas, certificates and post-degree diplomas in Business (Accounting, Marketing and Management certificates), diplomas in Hospitality and Tourism, Food and Beverage Management, Web Design and Development, Communication Design, Fine Arts and Design, Early Childhood Education and collaborative degrees in fine arts (Emily Carr University of Art and Design) and liberal studies (Vancouver Island University). Dual admissions with Royal Roads University (RRU) provides a pathway for NIC students to complete their Bachelor degrees in International Hotel Management, Professional Communication, Entrepreneurial Management, and Environmental Sciences in three years. NIC has university transfer opportunities with a number of BC universities in humanities, sciences, engineering, business, tourism/hospitality and other programs. NIC trades and vocational programs include: professional photography, culinary arts, aircraft structures, industrial automation and many more. North Island College is interested in partnerships for student/faculty/applied research exchange, dual credential development with programs delivered in English, articulation for degree completion options – particularly in business,Education for Employment (EFE) partners and project partners.

At Northern Lights College international students take part in a range of programs including: English as a Second Language, University Arts and Sciences (University Transfer) and a wide assortment of academic and vocational programs. These include everything from Business Management, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Industrial Instrumentation Mechanics. Northern Lights College is currently working in India to recruit a cohort of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering students.

International students at Northwest Community College (NWCC) enjoy a student-centred College, quality instruction, transfer credits to university programs, small class sizes, individual attention, exposure to Canadian life and culture and easy transfer from language training to other post-secondary programs and combined English Language / Career programs. Along with many other customized programs, NWCC offers all levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced) of English as a Second Language (ESL) at its Prince Rupert Campus – the only specialized program directed to international students. Other campuses provide ESL education at various levels. Groups of twelve (12) or more students are able to contract with the College to provide language training to suit their specific needs.

Selkirk College offers over 70 programs that are accessible to international students. Some of the most popular programs for International students are Resort and Hotel Management, Business Administration, Ski Operations and Resort Management, Environment and Geomatics.  Also Selkirk International offers a comprehensive English Language Program as well as a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second or Other Language) Advanced Diploma. Selkirk College is looking to build the English Language and TESOL programs, the Hospitality and Tourism Programs and Business and Aviation.   In terms of collaboration, Selkirk is interested in receiving students from colleges and universities as part of articulated program agreements, where students receive credit from their home institutions.  Selkirk also hopes to expand the study abroad opportunities for Selkirk College students.

Vancouver Community College (VCC) is renowned for its English as a Second Language training. VCC offers ESL classes for international students and visitors. English classes range from Lower Beginner to First-Year University English levels and Summer ESL Programs. VCC's philosophy of "study, work, live" for international students helps them experience Canadian life by learning practical skills in a classroom with local students, applying those skills in workplaces and living in one of the best cities in the world. Our “learn by doing” approach trains students to acquire practical skills that can be applied in the real world. Our strong partnerships with business and industry ensure the training students receive is relevant and in demand by today’s employers. Highlighted programs include: Hospitality Management Diploma, Hospitality Management Degree, Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, Asian Culinary Arts, Automotive Service Technician, Hair Design, Drafting Technician and Administrative Assistant. Plus, VCC is excited to announce two new post graduate diplomas beginning in November 2011 - Global International Business and Leadership Management (12 months) and Global International Project Management (12 months). VCC is looking for partnerships and articulation agreements with overseas post secondary institutions in the areas of hospitality management and automotive service technician.
