BC Announces Accelerated Early Childhood Care and Education Certificate at North Island College
The BC Government will expand NIC's Early Childhood Care and Education programming in the Comox Valley this January, with an accelerated, part-time certificate program.
Offered in the evening and weekends, the program will give students the opportunity to work as assistants in the field and complete their certification without affecting the human resource needs of the centres where they are employed.
The program is open to 24 students and starts in January 2019.
"With the expansion of the early childhood care and education certificate at North Island College, NIC is able to create a ripple effect of opportunity in our community, from students to families and through to the young children who get quality care,” said John Bowman, president of North Island College. “We are grateful to the B.C. government for helping us continue to meet the needs of the local communities we serve.”
Interested students must meet the program admission requirement of a C in Provincial English 12 or equivalent before the program begins. Assessments for prior learning and tuition-free upgrading are available. Please contact an advisor at email@example.com for details.
