CNC Students Celebrate Graduation in Quesnel
Thirty-four College of New Caledonia (CNC) students walked across the stage to accept their parchment during convocation at CNC’s Quesnel campus on May 29, 2018.
Graduates from a number of college programs took part in the ceremony to receive certificates, diplomas and associate degrees. Program areas included Administrative Assistant Certificate, Associate Arts Degree, Social Work Certificate and Diploma, as well as Adult Graduation Diploma.
A special award, the Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal, was presented to Rolanda Neufeld, a graduate of both our Early Childhood Care and Learning Certificate and Education Assistant Certificate programs.
"I am grateful for the education I received at College of New Caledonia Quesnel," Neufeld said. "What I learned here has helped me become a better person, mother, and friend. The tools I gained are lifelong lessons, which have prepared me to continue learning throughout my lifetime. My education provided me with a variety of skills that I use every day to help young children, students, and their families."
A number of student speakers also told their education story to the crowd of family, friends and faculty.
"Graduation is a time to celebrate student success with family, friends and fellow classmates," said CNC President Henry Reiser. "These students have worked hard to finish their courses, and we are proud to see them cross the stage and receive their parchment."
The Quesnel graduates join an alumni group of more than one hundred thousand strong through the six communities served by the College of New Caledonia.
