College of New Caledonia Hosts HR Industry Night for First Time
The College of New Caledonia (CNC) has partnered with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of BC and Yukon (CPHR BC & Yukon) to host its annual HR Industry Night event at the College for the first time on Feb. 11, 2019.
The event connected students in both CNC and UNBC’s HR programs with 20 industry professionals. This year, CNC focused on “speed networking” small groups of students with HR professionals who spoke about their career paths.
“We were very excited to host this event at CNC,” said Zelda Craig, CNC HR Faculty Coordinator. “It is an incredible opportunity for our students to connect with both industry professionals and to HR students at UNBC.”
The Human Resource Management post-diploma program has run at CNC for the past six years. In 2017, the program gained accreditation from CPHR BC & Yukon. The accreditation agreement allows CNC graduates the opportunity to be awarded a passing status of the National Knowledge Exam.
Hosting the annual CPHR BC & Yukon HR Industry Night is another milestone for CNC’s Human Resource Management post-diploma program.
“I’m proud of the growth this program has experienced at CNC over these past few years,” said CNC President Henry Reiser.
CPHR BC & Yukon’s annual HR Industry Night will continue to rotate between UNBC and CNC.
“The Human Resources programs at both schools are now very well aligned with the HR profession, so students are equipped to succeed in their careers,” said Tim Read, CPHR BC & Yukon Member Relations Manager, BC Interior & North. “CPHR BC & Yukon is delighted to have such well-prepared future professionals entering the field of HR.”
