College of New Caledonia to Welcome New Regional Principal in Quesnel

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) is pleased to welcome Tim Lofstrom to the position of regional principal in Quesnel starting Feb. 28, 2019.

Lofstrom joins CNC after a long career with School District #28 where he is currently the principal of Bouchie Lake Elementary School. He holds a Masters of Arts in Administration and Curriculum and is active in a wide variety of Quesnel community activities.

“Tim shares a deep passion for both education and his community,” said CNC President Henry Reiser. “We’re thrilled that he’s bringing that passion to CNC.”

Education is deeply connected to Lofstrom’s family. It was his brother who ultimately inspired him to become a teacher. Lofstrom began his career with the Prince George School District where he taught in the kindergarten to Grade 7 system for 14 years.

“I love connecting with students to help them solve problems,” he said. “It’s truly rewarding to watch them overcome challenges and grow from them.”

In 2006, Lofstrom moved to Quesnel after accepting an administrative position with School District 28. His career in education shifted once again in 2014 when he began as principal of School District 28’s Continuing and Adult Education. Working with students outside the elementary age was a satisfying experience for Lofstrom.

“I’ve worked with students at a different stage in their life,” he said. “Seeing students enter the final phase of their education and move on to successful lives is very powerful for me.”

Stepping into the role of regional principal at CNC’s Quesnel campus is the natural next step in the evolution of Lofstrom’s career in education.

“I look forward to connecting with the community in this new role to further the great work CNC is already doing to bring educational opportunities to Quesnel,” he said.
