Jobs abound for College’s Trades graduates
Alexandra Staple chose to become a welder because she wanted a different future. “I really wasn’t going anywhere in life doing what I was doing,” says the 23-year-old from Kelowna. “And I wanted a career with a future, not just a job.” Staple, who had been working in food and beverage service for several years, chose Okanagan College because of its strong reputation for trades education, and welding specifically because as an artist she likes working with her hands.
