Langara College Appoints New Chief Information Officer
Vancouver, BC - Langara College is pleased to announce the appointment of Jag Madan as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective September 1, 2015. Mr. Madan will lead the College’s Information Technology (IT) department as it embarks on an important transformation of institutional systems.
“Jag’s extensive experience in complex technology environments and ability to leverage IT systems to support organizational efficiencies and innovation will be key to his success in this new role,” said Dr. Ian Humphreys, VP Strategic Planning and Business Development.
Madan brings over 20 years experience in senior IT roles to Langara, most recently as CIO at Vancouver Community College where he led a number of cross functional projects in support of student, business, and research priorities. He has worked in a variety of industries in both the private and public sector and is well versed in developing strategic partnerships, aligning business priorities with technology and operational strategies, plans, and services. He also serves on the Board of Directors of BCNET (Higher Education Shared Services) chairing the IT Services Committee. Mr. Madan holds a MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business, a M. Ed. from the University of Western Australia, and a B.Sc. from Concordia University.
