NIC Signs Indigenous Education Protocol

NIC and representatives of Vancouver Island’s First Nations will sign a historic Indigenous Education Protocol today at a ceremony hosted by the K’omoks First Nation, affirming their commitment to Aboriginal learners and communities in the region.

The College and Institutes Canada’s (CICan’s) groundbreaking protocol provides a vision of how the college will strive to improve and better serve Indigenous peoples.

The NIC region is home to 35 First Nations of the Coast Salish, Kwakwak’wakw and Nuu-chah-nulth traditions, many of whom live in remote areas accessible only by water and air.
