NWCC And BG Canada Give The Gift Of Scientific Curiosity

This event is part of a larger, multi-year collaboration between University of Victoria’s Science Venture and NWCC to develop and support science programming in Prince Rupert. Science Venture is a non-profit organization that provides hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education for youth entering grades 1 through 12.  BG Canada has been a key contributor to the success of this program throughout 2015.

“We believe that fostering curiosity and developing an understanding of scientific principles and methods will help our youth become engaged and informed citizens”, says Pouyan Mahboubi, Dean of Instruction at NWCC. “This is critical to the sustainable development of our region.”

On Thursday, December 3, NWCC will present the classroom kits to Conrad Elementary, Lax Kxeen Elementary, Port Edward Community School, Pineridge Elementary, and Annunciation School. Media are invited to attend the event at 11:00 am at NWCC’s Prince Rupert campus. There will be opportunities to see the classroom kits and speak with project and school district representatives.
