Professional Documentary Filmmaker Leads Course At College Of The Rockies

College of the Rockies invites film enthusiasts, storytellers, photographers looking to evolve to moving image, high school students and anyone with filmmaking aspirations to join them at a documentary filmmaking workshop from July 18 to August 6.

Filmmaking Unleashed: A Documentary Film Workshop is designed to provide participants with the skills and narrative tools needed to make a professional quality film.  Students will work with professional equipment and develop a visual story with guidance from a team of international, award-winning professionals.  At the conclusion of the three-week program, participants will have developed, shot, edited and processed a festival-ready short documentary.

This exciting workshop will be led by French-American filmmaker and visual artist, Yana Kehrlein.  The winner of numerous awards for his unique digital artwork, Kehrlein has had his films shown in festivals across North America. Yana currently lives in Kimberley and works internationally as a film director and director of photography. He will be assisted in delivering the workshop by colleagues who are also active members of the industry. Read more.
