Mar 12 2013

Over 1,100 participants and 35 exhibitors attended this year's BC Jobs/Selkirk College Career and Education Fair at the Castlegar Campus.  Selkirk's newly announced strategic directions led to the Career Fair event, designed to increase student enrolments, create innovative employment services, and impact community development.

About 250 high school (grades 10-12) students participated from Nelson's L.V. Rogers, Castlegar's Stanley Humphries, Salmo, Rossland and Grand Forks secondary schools. The Career Fair was well-timed as students will soon start selecting 2013/2014 courses.

Co-op & Employment Services Introduces New Online Career Portal

Selkirk's Co-op & Employment Services department connected current students with internships, work placements and job opportunities both in person, and by introducing their newly launched online Career Portal. This service builds on one of Selkirk's new strategic directions of developing innovative programs and services. The portal provides services to students, recent graduates, employers and faculty, all year-round.
