Studio 58 BPA Grads invited to Prague Quadrennial
Vancouver, BC - Langara is pleased to announce that Studio 58 and Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) graduates Jordan Lloyd Watkins and Corwin Ferguson will present their work at the Prague Quadrennial in June 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Prague Quadrennial is the largest event in the world dedicated to scenography and theatre architecture. “The incredible honour that our alumni have been chosen for this prestigious project speaks to the quality of student interested in our Bachelor of Performing Arts,” said Stuart Aikins, Special Faculty Appointee, BPA. “The entrepreneurial spirit of Jordan and Corwin epitomize the desired experience we hope to deliver.”
Under the mentorship of Alexander Ferguson, a fellow Studio 58 graduate and current BPA instructor, Jordan and Corwin developed a micro-projection design installation piece entitled Le Voyage that has been selected, and subsequently invited, to participate in the Prague Quadrennial. Other Studio 58 graduates involved in the project include Jessica Oostergo, Shizuka Kai, and Phoebe Vlassis. For more information on the Prague Quadrennial, www.pq.cz/en.
About the Bachelor of Performing Arts
The Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) is a fourth-year, degree-completion program offered jointly by Capilano University, Douglas College, Langara College, and Vancouver Community College. The BPA program is unique in Canada as nowhere else in the country have four academic arts institutions partnered to offer a cross-disciplinary performing arts degree that has, at its heart, a commitment to collaboration and self-generation that are crucial to young artists’ future success.
