Community Education & Workplace Training is a vital resource for lifelong learners to gain the required training and seek satisfying diversions. With health and safety as the number-one priority, there is a multitude of course offerings available throughout the fall and winter months at Selkirk College.

The CNC community will take part in Orange Shirt Day to educate and promote awareness about the lasting impact of residential schools on Indigenous peoples, families, and communities.

In preparation for this fall semester, the Langara College Foundation, in collaboration with Financial Aid and Student Services departments, provided over 270 students with school supplies and financial support for the beginning of the semester. Students continue to face extraordinary financial challenges and increased needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While debilitating chafing sunk OC alumnus Nick Pelletier’s hopes of breaking the Guinness World Record for the fastest swim of Lake Okanagan from Vernon to Penticton, it didn’t stop him from more than doubling his fundraising goal.

Camosun College is welcoming students back to school this week and offering a helping hand to those in need during the pandemic. Weekly care hampers, featuring an abundance of nutritious fresh produce, tasty prepared meals, essential hygiene products, and even easy-to-follow recipes, are available to any student who requests them—on a first-come, while hampers last basis.

When Chantelle Davis started working for Aarm Dental Group in the fall of 2019, she knew a successful future lay ahead. “I had other job offers, but I knew my worth. I wasn’t accepting anything less,” says Davis.

Students at Coast Mountain College begin their fall classes on September 8 – but this year most students will be learning via distributed, or online learning. While the majority of CMTN’s students are learning from home this year, some will require practical components for their training and will be coming back to campus.

College of the Rockies’ University Science instructor, Katie Burles, worked with geography faculty from nine B.C. post-secondary institutions to develop an online open educational resource that will be used by students across the province, free of charge, this fall.
