College of New Caledonia Opens Doors to Future Students at Spring 2026 Open House
The College of New Caledonia (CNC) invites prospective students, families, and community members to explore opportunities for academic and career success at its upcoming Open Houses:
- Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Quesnel Campus
- Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Prince George Campus
Prepare for In-Demand Career Pathways
British Columbia's labour market outlook shows significant long-term job opportunities emerging across key sectors as the workforce evolves over the next decade. Across the province, more than one million job openings are projected by 2035, driven largely by replacement needs and growth in skilled professions.
At CNC's Open Houses, visitors can learn how programs in trades, technology, healthcare, sciences, and business align with regional and provincial labour demand, helping students begin their road to academic success in areas where employers are actively seeking skilled graduates. Skilled trades alone are expected to generate tens of thousands of job openings in BC over the coming decade, offering strong earning potential and career stability.
"With strong labour market demand in trades, technology, business, and health sciences across our region, Open House gives future students a chance to see firsthand how CNC programs connect directly to real career opportunities," said Shelley Carter-Rose, Vice President, Student Affairs. "We are here to help students make informed decisions and feel confident about their next step."
What Attendees Can Expect
Open House visitors will be able to:
- Meet instructors and current students to discuss program options and pathways
- Tour classrooms, labs, and shops, see hands-on learning in action
- Receive academic advising and financial guidance from CNC staff
- Explore support services and help students succeed form first class to graduation.
In addition to exploring programs and career pathways, Open House is designed to be a welcoming and fun community event. Visitors can enjoy complimentary snacks, interactive games, hands-on demonstrations, and engaging activities throughout campus. Whether you're trying out a trade skill, participating in a lab demonstration, or simply connecting with faculty and students in a relaxed atmosphere, there's something for everyone to experience and enjoy. It's a great opportunity to bring family and friends and get a true feel for campus life at CNC.
