NLC Dease Lake Campus celebrates Heavy Equipment Operator program completion

Twelve lucky students in Dease Lake took advantage of a free training opportunity through Employment Skills Access (ESA) for a Heavy Equipment Operator program.

The students completed the 12-week program and immediately started creating their new resumés for employment searches with local industry. Completion of the course gave each student 300 hours of work experience, as well as completing a variety of additional courses such as air brakes, first aid and safety training, forklift, ground disturbance and light duty vehicle training.

Funding for the program was provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement. A variety of ESA training programs are being offered on all NLC campuses.

For information on upcoming programs, call the Student Services department at your local campus at 1-866-463-6652 or visit nlc.bc.ca under Programs/Workforce Training/Employment Skills Access Program.
