Celgar’s effort to make challenging rural roadways more safe for pedestrians and drivers has received an enthusiastic response from the Castlegar community.

Students in Selkirk College’s School of Environment & Geomatics took a break from classroom activities earlier this month to pick up spades, wheelbarrows and garden gloves.

Registration is now available for North Island College’s free Prep Cook certificate program in Campbell River this December. Previously offered in only in Port Alberni, this year’s  certificate program starts Dec. 4 in Campbell River.

A collaboration between three local companies and Okanagan College has given trades students a new cutting-edge natural gas lab.

The opening of the Babcock Canada Interaction Lab represents a symbolic reawakening of the spirit of applied learning throughout the college, explains Camosun’s Director of Applied Learning Nancy Sly. “When we’re talking about applied learning, I don’t want us to forget that it’s at the core of who we are and what we do and it always has been. Now we are at a point where we are able to realign and reinvest so that we can take applied learning, research, interdisciplinary collaboration and experiential learning to another level.”

Langara College will host the University and College Pathways Expo on November 1st, a one-day education fair for students to meet transfer institutions and speak with university and college advisors about program and course transfer options.

This year, the class chose to design and donate suites to Dress for Success Vancouver (DFS), an organization that provides professional attire, career services, and skills development for women entering or rejoining the workforce.
